How Zonara AS processes personal data on zonara.com.

2. What We Collect and Why

We only collect what is necessary to operate the website and respond to inquiries.

When you contact us

When you send us an email (for example via a contact form, «Book demo» or «Get a quote»), we store the email content along with your email address and any name you provide. We use this to respond to your inquiry and follow up on the conversation.

Technical data about your visit

When you visit zonara.com, technical information such as IP address, browser type and timestamp is logged. This occurs in server logs maintained by our hosting provider (Vercel). Logs are used to maintain service security and stability.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand traffic patterns on our website. The tool collects anonymised data about visits and page views — but does not set any cookies and does not store any personal information. Visitors are identified by a temporary hash that is discarded after 24 hours. Vercel Web Analytics is GDPR-compliant and does not require consent.

We do NOT collect

  • We do not use Google Analytics or other third-party analytics tools.
  • We do not track behaviour or build profiles about visitors.
  • We do not use third-party cookies or tracking cookies.

The processing of your personal data is based on the Norwegian Personal Data Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) to respond to inquiries and maintain website operations.
  • Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) if you choose to subscribe to a newsletter or similar in the future.

4. How Long We Retain Data

  • Email correspondence is retained as long as relevant, typically up to three years.
  • Technical server logs are retained for up to 30 days.
  • Once the purpose is fulfilled, data is deleted or anonymised.

5. Cookies

Zonara.com does not use tracking cookies or analytics cookies. We do not set any cookies that require consent under the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act §2-7b.

If we introduce cookies requiring consent in the future, you will be asked at first visit.

6. Who We Share Data With

We do not share personal data with others, except for the following data processors providing technical infrastructure:

  • Vercel Inc. (USA) — website hosting. Data transfer is secured through EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC).
  • GitHub Inc. (USA) — source code management. Same basis for transfer.

We do not share data for commercial purposes or with third parties for marketing.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure when the legal basis no longer applies.
  • Restriction of processing.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest.

Send an email to hei@zonara.no to exercise your rights. You may also file a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) if you believe processing violates the regulations.

8. Security

We have technical and organisational measures in place to protect personal data against accidental loss, alteration or unauthorised access. All communication over zonara.com is encrypted with HTTPS.

9. Changes

We may update this policy when needed. Material changes will be announced on the website. The date of last update appears at the top.
