Innovation
A car stands still most of its life.
Almost all new cars in Norway are electric. The next step is to use the cars we already have.

From spreadsheets to data from the car.
From key cabinets to the phone.¹, Keyless access needs a key module fitted in the car.
From a car per employee to cars that are shared.
Newer cars already share their data through the manufacturer’s services. Zonara turns it into a logbook, service and sharing.

Financial risk
A car loses value whether it is driven or stands still.
When cars are shared, the cost follows the use.
A passenger car in Norway is driven on average around 31 km a day.

Share of electric cars
Almost all new cars are electric. The fleet is lagging behind.
95.9% of new passenger cars in 2025 were electric.

32.2% of the passenger car fleet is electric.

Sustainability
The electric car cuts the emissions from driving. Production is still the challenge.
The car that does not need to be produced is the most sustainable one.
An electric car has about half of the lifecycle emissions of a comparable fossil car.

Three of the UN Sustainable Development Goals are about this:
- 11 Sustainable cities and communities
- 12 Responsible consumption and production
- 13 Climate action

We believe
Three things we believe are coming.
- We believe self-driving cars will become a service, not an asset.
- We believe the fleet will become more important, not less.
- We believe smart cities will be built on data shared with care.

We believe the municipality’s cars can become the whole city’s cars.
In the daytime they drive for the municipality. In the evenings and at weekends they stand still. Several municipalities are already looking at how they can be shared.
Ruter has chosen MOIA for the next phase in Groruddalen and Lørenskog.

The cars are already here. It is about using them better.
